When I got it back the engine seems to rev higher even in overdrive. I recently had a rebuild on the e4od in my '89 Clubwagon with a 460.When the problem is not present it works perfectly. It seems to be very erratic, sometimes you can make a 300 mile trip witout any problems, and other times it will neutral out 3 or 4 times on a 10 mile trip. My E4OD transmission neutrals out intermittently in Overdrive and 4th gear.I dont know were to start and i keep getting screwed buy having it rebuilt. But now it shifts funny and when i take off about 10 ft it makes a hitting sound our clunk sound as if the tourque converter is going out.I know how to do just about everything else on a car or truck but i cant fix a trany problem. It doesnt stay in 4th gear and downshifts on its own but if i take it out of overdrive by the O D button it drives fine. I dont know why its giving me so much trouble. I love my truck but thats 4000 dollars in trany work in this truck. Mine is a push button O.D.The truck runs great and ive had this trany rebuilt twice and it seems to mess up right after the warranty goes out. Is it possible to put an AOD trany in it. I have a 91' F-150 with a straight 6, E4OD trany. At times my overdrive light flashes and the transmission shifts very hard, what could cause this?
